Or perhaps a better question might be: Are you questioning everyone else’s sanity?

Truth is fungible today.

If we are uncertain of the truth from supposedly reliable sources that tell us we’re wrong thinking; who are we to disagree? The problem is that we all should be free thinkers and if someone, even someone we trust tells us it’s dark outside, even when we can see that it is not, we begin to lose trust in traditional authority systems. Then, faced with multiple “truths” to choose from, we are left on our own to decide what to believe and what not to believe. Some of us are well equipped to discern what’s reliable and what’s not. Most are not.

Read this quote from the outspoken Prime Minister of New Zealand in reference to Covid:

“Ardern next revealed that the government and its various appointed ministers would be the harbinger of truth and that New Zealanders were to trust no one else apart from the government.”  

“We will continue to be your single source of truth,” she said. “We will provide information frequently. We will share everything we can.” 

This is the same person who after a mass shooting in Christchurch, New Zealand a few years ago started confiscating semi-automatic rifles and pistols under threat of imprisonment after she banned their possession. She did that on her own, without a law being passed or public discussion. Friends, that’s a Dictator. Think we can’t have a Dictator here?

Read what Biden said about New Zealand’s PM:

“The president-elect also praised the prime minister’s extraordinary leadership after the 2019 Christchurch massacre, on COVID-19, and as a working mother and role model, a spokesperson for the Biden-Harris transition team said in a statement.”

One can easily make a transcendental jump and visualize President Biden seeking to emulate his apparent role model, PM Arden.

Cognitive dissonance is a term for the state of discomfort felt when two or more modes of thought contradict each other. Here are two different modes of thought at play here:

  1. We are free in this country to make our own choices that favor our own self-interest
  2. The government has the ability and power to make collective choices for us

Freedom is enshrined in our Constitution, everyone knows that. Our rights are enumerated and guaranteed by our Constitution. They are Natural Rights, defined as:

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.

Today, government is asserting supremacy over us. They allow and encourage social media to remove both ideas and people who contradict the government’s positions. And, it’s not just on Covid either. Both the government and social media claim to have their own Authoritative Sources that amount to little more than Star Chambers of the left that decide what’s true and what’s not and whether your thoughts and ideas will be allowed. That is not freedom.

The intentional result of this is a diminution of personal freedom and responsibility. It’s fundamentally anti-American and that’s the idea for people intent on creating a “New Vision” for us all.

This very Blog would be removed or canceled if posted on social media.

I’ve personally made comments on government websites and seen them removed because it diverges with the “truth” they want to impart.

Friends, free people are free to dissent and oppose ideas and actions that they don’t agree with. We are but a hairsbreadth away from being like New Zealand. All it takes is Biden declaring this or that emergency to give him dictatorial powers. Think it can’t happen here? Think again. As we speak landlords can’t evict tenants for nonpayment. Under a CDC edict (who gave them such powers?) landlords’ rights have been eliminated in favor of their tenants’ rights. I understand the plight of tenants.

What I don’t understand is how the government, can cancel other people’s rights in the name of this or that crisis. I believe this to be unconstitutional, yet it stands for all to see as an example of what the government is capable of. What’s next? Utilities, Cable Television, Broadband, Food, Transportation? There are groups who believe that those things and much more are rights. And, these groups are in their ascendancy. As long as there is no pushback, the demands will only get broader and broader.

As to my instant question that I began with…consider yourself sane. It’s the way our enemies have insidiously maneuvered us that is insane. We are already on the sleigh ride and it’s picking up speed.
