I was recently chastised for an error of omission by Reader George K., who responded to my recent AT piece “Under Wokeism, Animal Farm Comes to Life.” George wrote, “You did a great job listing the symptoms but never touched on the cause.”  He continued, “The answer is simple.  The 60s radicals went back to college, graduated with all their ideology intact, and took control of our culture, “Culture,” as used here, refers to all human behavior and institutions, including popular entertainment, art, religion, education, scholarship, economic activity, science, technology, law, (social media) and morality.” With their law degrees, they went into politics to write laws to further their agenda.  When the 60’s radicals took control of our culture, they took control of the minds of our youth.”

I wanted to tell George, “I knew that!” But while I did underplay the natural evolution of homegrown radicals, I overplayed the cabal of foreign interests.  They haven’t been as successful at screwing us up as well as our homegrown haters have done, however.  Below, exerted from a 2020 article by Andrew C. McCarthy, a National Review correspondent,  lays out the Left’s playbook brilliantly in “The Revolution is Winning.” Here are some of his observations (edited for brevity and clarity).  Keep in mind that these items tie together, so read from beginning to end:

  • Radicals from the 1960s and 1970s now hold influential positions in government and academia with the intent to overthrow the capitalist, racist, imperialist system they so despise.
  • Bill Ayers (a foundational leader of this movement) was never prosecuted for the bombings he carried out and the mass murders he planned.  Instead, he was rewarded with a “Distinguished Professor of Education” at the University of Illinois.  Ayers saw a moral imperative to convert schools into social-justice indoctrination labs.
  • For the revolution to succeed, the police must be discredited, defunded, and defanged.
  • Weather Underground confederates Susan Rosenberg, Kathy Boudin, David Gilbert, and others teamed with the Black Liberation Army in the 1981 robbery of a Brinks armored truck at a mall near Nyack, N.Y.  At the time, Rosenberg was already a suspect in the 1979 New Jersey jailbreak of Joanne Chesimard, also known as Assata Shakur, a Black Liberation Army leader convicted of murdering New Jersey State Trooper Werner Foerster.  Chesimard fled the country and received asylum in Fidel Castro’s Communist Cuba.
  • In robbing the Brinks truck, the terrorists murdered Brinks guard Peter Paige.  In a firefight with Nyack Police, they killed Sergeant Edward O’Grady and Officer Waverly Brown.  Three years later, Rosenberg was finally captured with over 700 pounds of explosives she was planning to use in additional mayhem.  A federal judge in New Jersey sentenced her to 58 years imprisonment.
  • Boudin and Gilbert left Chesa, their 14-month-old son, with a sitter to join the Brinks heist.  They were captured after a bloody shootout.  Boudin was sentenced to a minimum of 20 years imprisonment and Gilbert to 75 years.
  • With his parents in custody, Chesa Boudin was raised by their confederates, Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn.  Like Ayers, Dohrn was a Weather Underground leader who became an academic after eluding prosecution for their bombings and mass-murder conspiracies.
  • In Chicago, Ayers and Dohrn became prominent in Democratic politics.  At their Hyde Park home in 1995, they held a coming-out party for an ambitious political unknown, a community organizer named Barack Obama.  Two years later, the future president breathlessly endorsed Ayers’s polemic, A Kind and Just Parent, as a “searing and timely account.” The book is an indictment of the U.S. criminal-justice system, which Ayers likens to South Africa under apartheid.  Ayers helped pave Obama’s way into the radical Left’s extensive fundraising networks.  The two collaborated as board members of the Chicago Annenberg Challenge, doling out more than $100 million to community organizers and education “reformers.”
  • President Bill Clinton commuted Susan Rosenberg’s terrorism sentence in 2001.  Instantly, she was offered teaching positions at John Jay College of Criminal Justice and, later, Hamilton College.
  • By 2020, she would become vice-chair of the Board of Directors at Thousand Currents after years as an “activist” in criminal justice “reform” and prisoners’ rights.  Like the Chicago Annenberg Challenge, Thousand Currents is a grant-making foundation of the radical Left, which similarly tapped into its fundraising networks, including such groups as the W. K. Kellogg Foundation (a deep-pocketed non-profit that promotes racial causes and also supports the Tides Foundation) and George Soros’s Open Society Foundations, and the NoVo Foundation (funded and controlled by the Buffett family).
  • The principal organizational framework for BLM is the Black Lives Matter Global Network Foundation, run by three women: Opal Tometti, Alicia Garza, and Patrisse Cullors.  In a 2015 interview, Cullors observed, “Myself and Alicia, in particular, are trained Marxists organizers.”
  • Since George Floyd’s killing, BLM has been flooded with donations.  Its operations are opaque, however, and it has not qualified for non-profit status.  To navigate around this inconvenience, the BLM Global Network Foundation is sponsored by Thousand Currents, which has non-profit status — meaning donors can make tax-deductible contributions to Thousand Currents, which, in turn, supports BLM.  The arrangement appears to trace back to 2016 when the Kellogg Foundation provided Thousand Currents with $900,000 for “building the infrastructure and capacity of the national #BlackLivesMatter.
  • Boudin was granted parole in 2003, and Columbia University immediately awarded her a full scholarship to pursue a doctorate at Teachers College.  She is now an adjunct professor at Columbia’s School of Social Work and a co-founder of its “Center for Justice.”
  • Meanwhile, Chesa Boudin, the son of Boudin and Gilbert, who Ayers and Dohrn raised, studied at Oxford on a Rhodes scholarship, got a law degree from Yale, completed a stint in a public defender’s office, and was then elected District Attorney for San Francisco.
  • Boudin’s candidacy was backed by the Left’s financial network, BLM, the Communist icon Angela Davis and Senator Bernie Sanders (I., Vt.), the avowed socialist.  He appears to be the most influential supporter of the Joe Biden presidential campaign.

The goals of the revolution never change, and it has simply airbrushed its terrorist leaders into prominent public scholars and “activists” with a supposed passion for “change” and “justice.” The revolution has unlimited money and organization, achieved control of the schools, dominated one of the nation’s two major political parties, and has near complete control of the media megaphone.  That is why the revolution is winning.  The 1960s never ended; they just led us to where we are today.

It should take your breath away to see everything laid out so clearly!  Imagine the patience, single-mindedness, and dedication to their cause these Destroyers continuously muster.  Wokeism describes the philosophy these Destroyers espouse, which must constitute illegal and seditious behavior under our laws if we are ever to find our way back.  Our legitimate protections are artfully and completely subverted by these perpetrators who seek to overthrow our country through force, deception, and nearly limitless access to money.

The Constitution never anticipated that our enemies would become sufficiently devious and successful enough in using Constitutional protections to achieve what amounts to Constitutional Suicide.  We must attack all Wokesters where they live if we are to have any chance to fight them on equal terms.

This is where we are today.

God Bless America.
